CHILI SPICED TORTILLA CHIPS

We all need a chip with our dip! whether it’s chili con queso, ceviche, salsa, bean dip, or anything your heart desires. These spiced chips will bring the flavor! Of course you can buy pre-made chips in the bag, but I promise you they won’t compare to these.

Because I use pre-made corn tortillas to make these chips, it’s not too time consuming. Just drop them in some hot oil, hit them with a little spice, and you’ve got some great tasting chips on their own or with a dip.

Eat these with 20 MINUTE SHRIMP CEVICHE

CHILI SPICED TORTILLA CHIPS

prep time: 3 minutes
cook time: 10 minutes
total time: 13 minutes

INGREDIENTS:

For chips:
3-4 cups vegetable oil
10 tortillas, each cut in 4 even triangles

For spice:
2 tbs chili powder
1tsp kosher salt
1 tsp garlic powder

DIRECTIONS:

Heat oil to 325 degrees (using a thermometer) in a tall sided pan. Once heated, add in tortilla triangles one at a time, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Cook each side for about 1.5 minutes until chip is crispy. Remove chips from the oil and immediately season chips with spice mixture.

It’s important to season asap, so that the spice will stick to the oil still on the chips. Repeat till all chips are cooked.
