GRINCH HOT CHOCOLATE

As an adult, Christmas just isn’t as magical as it used to be as a kid. I no longer believe in Santa and no longer am showered with gifts by my mom and dad. The magic of the season is still here, but just in a different way. Now that my son is 3, Christmas is just starting to get super exciting. Seeing the Christmas spirit on his face makes the holiday that much more special for my husband and I. I love to get into the holiday spirit by baking anything that looks and tastes merry and bright!

I think it’s so fun and special to involve the kids in everything possible when it comes to the holidays. Like baking cookies, cake or brownies. Or also making “Grinch Hot Chocolate”. My sons favorite Christmas movie at the moment is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. I’m sure he’s not the only little boy who loves it! So today I decided to make us a little Christmas treat and play around with some food coloring. The bright green colors are so fun for kids (and adults) who are looking to get a little more festive. Make this for a fun Christmas movie night or the night before Christmas. It’ll get everyone in the holiday mood!

This recipe is a white chocolate hot chocolate with a touch of mint flavoring. I love a slight peppermint taste when it comes to chocolate. Chocolate and mint definitely go hand in hand. If you’ve never had peppermint hot chocolate… then you’re in for a treat. If you hate mint and can’t stand the taste, you can always leave out the mint extract and it’ll just be a basic white hot chocolate recipe. Either way, it’s amazing!
